Features & Benefits
DMT CoreScan3 is a portable core imaging device developed for drill core image acquisition, storage and evaluation of full and slabbed core. Furthermore, whole core boxes can be scanned in one image. Full core is rotated 360°around its cylindrical axis while the line-scan camera, positioned parallel to the axis of rotation, scans its surface. Full core is scanned at a rate of ~20 sec/m and the image can be stored as BMP, PNG, TIF or JPG files.

  • Applicable on any core drilling project
  • Portable stand alone system
  • Online global accessibility of core images
  • Digital drill core library

About the DMT CoreScan3 System
The DMT CoreScan system is a high-tech core logging system, which enables scanning of drill core, the creation of a digital drill core library (drill core data management) and qualitative and quantitative structural analysis using high-quality images. The system comprises of: the drill core scanner DMT CoreScan 3, the UV fluorescence imaging device DMT CoreScan UV, as well as the analysing software and database DMT CoreBase 2.

The DMT CoreScan generates high-resolution, full circumference images of drill core samples. Furthermore, drill core or even an entire core box can be scanned in the plane mode resulting in a detailed overview image. It produces optical images in true color with a resolution of up to 10 pixel/mm (254 dpi), details up to 40 pixel/mm (1016 dpi).

DMT CoreScan UV is a new additional UV fluorescence imaging tool for the established DMT CoreScan system. Using this integrated feature makes it easier to analyse drill core e.g. for the distribution of mineral oil or fluorescent minerals such as scheelite.

The configuration of the portable stand alone devices is designed for rough environments and is extremely user-friendly to handle.
